CNY Dinner

A reunion dinner is held on New Year's Eve where members of the family, near and far, get together for celebration. The New Year's Eve dinner is very large and traditionally includes chicken and pork. Fish (魚, yú) is also included, but not eaten up completely (and the remaining stored overnight), as the Chinese phrase 年年有魚/餘; (nián nián yǒu yú, or "every year there is fish/leftover") is a homophone for phrases which could mean "be blessed every year" or "have profit every year", since "yú" is also the pronunciation for "surplus".

In the year 2003,... Reunion dinner was makaned this way,.. noticed the newspaper clipping on the wall,.. it was about dad and BB browsing in Kenyalang one afternoon which a reporter caught them in his camera.....anyway, basically dad and BB were there 3 times a day (morning, afternoon, evening) and everyday like having meals.

Then in 2005,.. we got new TABLE for our Renunion Dinner....

Then in 2006,.. our shark's fin improved,.. to bigger slices of real fins... so we placed in a big bowl on the table instead of scooping from the pot like we used to every year....
Then in 2007, we got flies officer standing by ..... to snap any flies whom tempt to intruded our dinner....
In 2008, no pictures were taken due to low mood....

This year 2009,.. Increased in population,.. so we needed seats arrangements. In the middle of dinner, we played a game to keep the kids excited. Noticed any difference in the dishes we makan every year?'Happy New Year'! Glad that all can makan together!
